Young journalists in Nigeria are invited to participate in a media training session on 15 and 16 October under the theme "Making maximum impact in journalism." The deadline to register is 7 October.
Initiated in 2005 by Media Career Services (MCS), the Nigerian Young Journalists Conference (NYJC) is intended for "young, enterprising, career minded and upward moving journalists."
It aims to impart young media professionals - especially those with less than five years experience in media - with skills needed to improve the quality of their work.
The conference, which will be facilitated by experienced media professionals, will focus on: Understanding media career trends; Investigative reporting techniques; Maximizing media career potential; Becoming an award winning journalist; and Creative writing ideas for journalists.
Registration costs NGN3,000 (US$25.50).
