Freelance broadcasters can enter The Rory Peck Awards, an international competition honoring journalists for their skills, initiative and courage. The deadline to enter is 2 September. The work must have been published between 1 August 2007 and 31 July 2008.

Three awards will be granted: the news award will highlight the work of a freelancer who has covered “on-the-day” news; the feature award will honor an in-depth piece; and The Impact Award will focus on news footage of humanitarian issues.
