War correspondents and photographers have until 16 June to submit works for the Bayeux-Calvados War Correspondents Prize. The best journalistic work on a conflict and its consequences for the civil population or an event concerning the defence of press freedom and democracy will be awarded. Entries must have been published between 1 June 2007 and 31 May 2008.
Four winners, one from each of the four categories of television, radio, print and photography, will receive cash awards of €7,600 (US$12,000). Four other awards, worth €3,000 to €3,800 (US$4,700 to $6,000) each, will also be granted, including a new Young Reporter Prize for journalists under 28 years old. Winners will be announced at a ceremony in Bayeux, France, in October.
