Elizabeth Neuffer Fund for Human Rights Journalism

In memory of Elizabeth Neuffer, the Elizabeth Neuffer Fund offers a nine-month fellowship that provides the opportunity for a woman journalist to focus exclusively on human rights journalism.

The fellow will have the opportunity to pursue academic research as well as hone journalistic skills.

Neuffer, who worked 13 years as a foreign correspondent for The Boston Globe, writing about rape victims in Bosnia to survivors of genocide in Rwanda, was killed in Iraq in 2003.

The award, offered through the International Women in Media Foundation (IWMF), is supported by the Boston Globe Foundation, Peter Canellos, The Correspondents Fund, Carolyn Lee, MIT Centre for International Studies, Mark Neuffer, the United Nations Foundation and numerous friends of Elizabeth Neuffer.
