In response to increased membership demand, the Society of News Designs (SND) is now offering reduced membership fees for developing countries.
“In many countries around the globe, journalists and designers are working for a fraction of the salary paid in Western countries,” SND International Director Hans-Peter Janisch stated in a news release from the organisation. “Our current individual membership fee is simply not affordable to many of our colleagues. Recognising this, SND is introducing a new model for news organisations in specific countries that meet specific income criteria. In those countries, a newspaper, magazine, or website can become a SND member through a corporate membership.”
Organisations applying for corporate membership will name three members to represent their organisation and will receive the following benefits:
One copy of the annual Best of Newspaper Design book.
Access for each representative to the update newsletter in PDF format
Three PDF versions of SDF’s quarterly design journal
Access for each representative to the www.snd.com membership area.
Membership discounts for the three representatives to SND activities and events
Membership is open to anyone with an interest in journalism and design. Founded in 1979, SND is a non-profit organisation with 2,400 members in more than 50 countries. Its mission is to enhance communication around the world through excellence in visual journalism.
