The Wits Investigative Journalism Workshop (IJW) is presently organising its third international investigative journalism conference, the “Power Reporting Workshop 2007.” The conference is scheduled for three South African Universities.
The conference, which is funded by the Valley Trust and the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, will take place from 3 to 5 September in Johannesburg at Wits University, and for the first time at Rhodes University on 7 September as well as at University Stellenbosch on 10 September. In future years the Power Reporting Workshop is anticipated to reach more provinces in South Africa.
The workshop will be conducted in collaboration with the London Centre for Investigative Journalism (CIJ), the Institute for the Advancement of Journalism in Johannesburg (IAJ) and the Forum for African Investigative Reporters (FAIR). The German Development Service (DED), the Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA), and Wits Computer & Networking Services (CNS) have also offered additional support.
