From 30 July to 3 August, in Nairobi, the Reuters Foundation will organize a course by distinguished guest speakers reinforcing the essentials of excellent journalism and bring an international dimension to coverage of Africa’s economic and business environment. The five-day lectures will include story writing, group discussions, and a field trip. According to Reuters, participants will explore the interlocking issues related to Africa’s struggle for economic development. Trade, aid, governance and debt will also be discussed.
The course is aimed at established reporters and editors in African countries interested in economic and development issues. Participants must be fluent in written and spoken English and comfortable with computers.
The Reuters Foundation offers full bursaries that include travel expenses (economy class), accommodation and a modest living allowance. This arrangement is subject to variation.
