Founded in 1998, the Annual Carole Simpson Leadership Institute (CSLI) offers women journalists the opportunity to build skills as effective media managers. The training focuses on practical career and personal development skills such as leadership assessment, self-empowerment, stress management, creative thinking and assertive communication. Jerusha Arothe-Vaughan has led three Carole Simpson Leadership Institutes for more than 75 African women journalists.
