Journalists and photographers around the world are invited to apply for the 2005 Bayeux-Calvados Awards, which honour excellence in war reporting and carries a cash prize of 7,600 Euro. The competition is open to reporters, photographers and freelance journalists. There are four award categories print, photography, radio, and television. Applicants should submit published articles or audio/visual work that describe the impact of armed conflict on civilian populations or involve the defence of human rights and democracy. Samples must be published between 1 June 2004 and 31 May 2005. Winners will be announced at a prize-giving ceremony in Bayeux, France, on 8 October 2005.
