For those media organisations in West Africa who want to feel more comfortable using the Internet, the "Time to Get Online" Project, run by the organisation Kabissa, is offering training materials that can be downloaded for free by West African civil society organisations. The project also involves a number of local training workshops. The online materials can be used as both a self-taught curriculum and as a reference guide for users with varying levels of internet experience. The local workshops serve as a supplement to the online training materials and provide participants with the opportunity to ask questions and interact with an Internet expert. Learning materials are available for all levels of internet knowledge - from connecting to the Internet to using the Internet as an advocacy tool.
To access the free, electronic version of the self-learning materials, log onto the Time to Get Online Web site, at http://www.timetogetonline.org.
For information about other on-site workshops contact Kim Lowery, ttgo@kabissa.org
