Five South African journalists have the chance to live and work in German for a period of two months, in an all-expenses paid fellowship offered by International Journalists’ Program (IJP). The fellowship will take place from March to April 2004. All participants will be integrated into the day-to-day reporting of their host newsroom, but will also have the freedom to undertake individual research projects anywhere in Germany. Applicants must be between 25 and 35. Only applicants with a strong command of English, and who have worked for a South Africa media organization, are eligible. Successful applicants will receive a 3,000 Euro grant, which is expected to cover most of their travel, accommodations and living expenses in Germany. IJP will also provide a return flight ticket from Johannesburg to Berlin.
Deadline: 1 December, 2003.
