Reporting Course for Southern and East-African Journalists

The Institute for the Advancement of Journalism (IAJ) is offering two weeklong courses focusing on reporting, writing and editing. The courses will run in Johannesburg and Cape Town, South Africa. Intensive coaching and role-playing exercises will attempt to help participants develop skills for interviewing reluctant sources, reporting across cultures and writing with an expressive but informational style. The Johannesburg course will run 10 to 14 November, while the Cape Town course will run 17 to 21 November. The course fee is 4, 250 Rand (US$610), and includes lunch and refreshments.
