The UN Correspondents’ Association (UNCA) is calling for entries for its Eighth Annual UNCA Awards for best written and electronic media coverage of the United Nations, and for the Third Annual UNCA/Ranan Lurie Award for Political Cartoons. The winners will be announced at the Association’s Awards Dinner at UN Headquarters in New York, in October 2003. Secretary General Kofi Annan will present the prizes. The winners of the UNCA/Ranan Lurie award will receive $10,000 for first place, $5,000 for second place, and $3,000 for third. The first place winner of the UNCA Award will receive $10,000. The value of the rewards for second and third place winners has yet to be finalised.
